Asthma

An estimated 75% of admissions for asthma are avoidable and as
many as 90% of the deaths (1,500) from asthma are preventable.(1)

Asthma is a common condition in children. It is characterised by breathlessness that begins with a dry cough and chest tightness. If the asthma attack continues it can progress into laboured breathing and wheezing. In mild cases, asthma attacks usually last only a few minutes.

However in severe cases they are terrifying as the sufferer gasps and struggles to get air. Asthma can be caused by many factors. Usually it starts as an allergic reaction to something in the environment or due to a food allergy. Studies also indicate that an imbalance in your nervous system that regulates lung function also causes asthma. Dr Farthing stated, “Research is not telling us anything new as it is just proving what we’ve known all along. More people in the commuinty are understanding the vital link between the spine and nervous system and optimal health.”

In fact, the nerves that exit through the spine have intricate connections with all organs in the body. The nervous system controls and coordinates every cell, tissue and organ in the body.(2) The missing link is that spinal
misalignment affects the nerves that control lung function. It is possible then, that the spine has a vital part to play in the care for asthma patients.

Research has now revealed that spinal health care provided by Spinal Specialists can help asthma sufferers. Patients with asthma typically
have neck and upper back VERTEBRAL SUBLUXATIONS
(spinal misalignments). Specific gentle adjustments (precise spinal correction) to the neck and upper back restore the proper balance to your nervous system that is required for lung function. Spinal adjustments to the neck and upper back also reduce muscle tightness and joint stiffness that occurs from the wheezing and laboured breathing. Once your muscles, joints and nervous system are working properly, you will able to function
and breathe better.

Research:

Previous studies indicated that 76.5% of patients with bronchial asthma said they benefited from spinal adjustments. Peak flow rate and vital capacity increased after the third treatment.

Significantly lower quality of life impairment rating scores were reported for 90.1% of children after 60 days of spinal health care. During this same time period the average number of asthma attacks decreased an average of 44.9%, and asthma medication usage was decreased an average of 66.5%.

Among parents of asthmatic children who had received spinal care, 92% considered this treatment beneficial.(3)

ACTION:

Important questions that need to be asked of your doctor:

1. Is your asthma the result of a shortage of air inhalants or other
medication in the body?

2. Is ventolin and other inhalant medication correcting the cause?
3. Are children being overprescribed asthma medication?

Important question to ask yourself:

When did you last have a spine and posture health check?

Health and Spinal Specialist Dr Christian Farthing says, “I often have parents telling me that their children have been put on preventative inhalants since early childhood. What concerns me most is what preventative steps were recommended before diving into such drugs?

Are they correcting the cause of asthma? Is this creating a dependency on
such medication.” He added, “One of my younger teenage patients could not have put it better when she asked: ‘If we were designed to live on
asthma pumps, surely we would have been born with one in our hand?’”

As a prevention specialist, Dr Farthing can help you take advantage on the
groundbreaking research on the prevention of childhood asthma.
As a parent and/or individual, you need to take active steps in understanding asthma rather than passively taking medication and not knowing the long term effects. You also need to seek advice from someone who is interested in taking care of you and your family’s health rather than filling you with drugs and medication.

Facts about Asthma...Did you know?

IMPORTANT NOTICE.

Before reading this, try to answer the following questions:
1. Are you being over-medicated?
2. Are you correcting the cause of the problem?

FACT: The UK has the highest prevalence of severe wheeze in children
aged 13–14 years worldwide.

FACT: Asthma now costs the NHS an average of £850 million per year.
At a local level, the annual cost of managing asthma for an average sized
primary care organisation has been estimated at £4 million.

FACT:
Nearly a third of all long-term
childhood illnesses are due to doctordiagnosed asthma.

FACT: Every 16 minutes a child is admitted to hospital in England,
Scotland or Wales because of their asthma.

FACT: One in eight children has asthma and this figure has increased
six-fold in the last 25 years.

FACT: An estimated 75% of admissions for asthma are avoidable and as many as 90% of the deaths (1,500) from asthma are preventable.(4)

POSSIBLE SOLUTION

Latest research studies show that :

♦ children under spinal health care (as provided at the Ideal Spine Centre)
achieved the same decrease of asthma attacks as those undergoing
medical care, and without the side effects of drugs;

♦ children under spinal care reduced the amount of medication they
required by 47%;

♦ frequency of asthma attacks decreased by 45% for those children
undergoing spinal care;

♦ children, after 4 weeks of care stated that their asthma severity decreased 34%.(3)

Did You Know…

Over 8 million people in the UK have been diagnosed as having asthma at
some point in their lives.

FACT: With all the technology & advances in our current health care system, the problem is worse than ever before.

FACT: The spine houses and protects the spinal cord and nerves that control the lungs. Interference at the spine could decrease lung function,
predisposing to breathing problems.

FACT: All health & healing comes from inside the body, not from a bottle, pill, potion, pump or spray.

Did You Know:

Research studies also show that :

Children receiving spinal care had a decrease in asthma attacks by 44%;
medication usage decreased by 66% and 92% of parents considered the
treatment beneficial.(3)

QUESTION TIME...

1. Are you being over-medicated?

2. Are you correcting the cause of the problem?

3. What active steps are you taking to protect your family’s health?

4. When was the last time your family had a spine & nerve system health
check by a Spinal Specialist, to make sure you are functioning optimally on
the inside?

5. Do you know someone who suffers from asthma and would benefit from a spine and nervous system check-up?

6. Are you prepared to share the facts and help someone…?

Always look to correcting the cause...Asthma is definitely not due to a shortage of ventolin or air-inhalants in the body.

Asthma: Life without fear

Imbalance to your nervous system, that regulates lung function, can cause asthma. Your spine is your life-line. Your spine is the protective housing around the spinal cord carrying life’s messages from the brain to the body.

The Nervous System is also known as the “Master System” because it controls everything inside the body. Your nervous system controls every cell, tissue and organ in the body. Therefore, one can understand how
interference to the nervous system and interference to the messages passing from the brain to the body will cause lowered function and ultimately sickness and suffering.

If the nerves of the low back are affected, this may cause sciatica, pins and needles in the legs and feet, and even cause lowered bowel function.
And so, nerves in the upper spine may cause headaches, sinus problems, blood pressure disturbances as well as dysfunctional breathing. Do you remember how electrical currents and 'unseen waves' were laughed at? “The knowledge about man is still in its infancy.” - Albert Einstein

From the April 26 2004 release of the peerreviewed scientific journal, the "Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research" (JVSR), comes a very large literature review study showing the multiple benefits of spinal health care on people who are not suffering from pain or other obvious problems.

This literature review looked at more than twenty studies involving subjects who were specifically described as, “asymptomatic,” “healthy,” “normal,” or “free from physical injury.” In addition, an equal number of studies were found also documenting objectively measured health benefits in subjects who had no symptomatic presentation, (asymptomatic).(5)

THE MESSAGE IS CLEAR...

It is possible for asthma sufferers to live without fear and get on with their lives. The results of this large review showed measurable objective improvements in things such as range of motion, blood pressure, heart rate, plasma catecholamine levels, immune responses, enhanced respiratory burst, pupil reactions, slower heart rate, improved pulmonary function, as well as many other objectively measured indications of improved body physiology. Because Spinal Specialists focus on improving your health through a healthy spine & nervous system, a check-up for any asthma sufferer may be one of the most important health checks they may ever have.

Remember, always look to correcting the cause rather than patching up and just treating the symptom.
