Facts about Car Accidents...Did you know?

FACT: Your spine should be regularly maintained throughout your life, from the very beginning, and most people aren’t aware of that fact. Spinal specialists have been saying for over 100 years now that spinal misalignment or malfunction of the vertebrae in the spine cause nerve pressure, resulting in headaches, arm and leg pain, low back, chest, or neck pain. Dr Farthing, as well as medical researchers who published findings in the British Medical Journal, agree on this fact.

FACT: Many pain-sensitive structures in the neck - the joints, discs and even ligaments, may be related to problems that whiplash and accident victims often report: headaches, dizziness, pins and needles, numbness and other problems.

FACT: A study of 6,000 people who suffered from recurring headaches for two to 25 years showed that spine injury was the most important factor in the cause of the headache and should be suspected in every nonspecific case of headache.Most of the spine and nerve damage from car
accidents (rear, side or front impacts) at greater than 10mph cannot be felt until years to come. Don’t be misled by the absence of
symptoms.

FACT: The Accident Research Facility at the University of British Columbia, teamed up with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. They conducted controlled, low speed impact testing. They found that with impacts at only 17km/h (11mph), the vehicle DID NOT sustain damage BUT THE PEOPLE IN THE CAR DID!!!

FACT: References from C. Chan Gunn, of the University of Washington Pain Clinic: Posterior SUBLUXATION, caused from whiplash, causes “bruising” of the nerve, which leads up to “scar tissue” build up, which causes...NERVE MALFUNCTION AND SUPER SENSITIVITY PAIN. The “scar tissue” and “subluxation” that occur from whiplash, cause nerve malfunction and chronic pain.
