Burden in Europe

It is estimated that the frequency of asthma in Western Europe has doubled in the last 10 years.

Different countries

In the UK, it is estimated that 3.4 million people (one in every seven children aged 2-15 years and one in every 25 adults) have asthma symptoms requiring treatment.
In Germany, the number of asthmatics is estimated to be 4 million.

FACTS

Asthma now costs the NHS an average of £850 million per year. At a local
level, the annual cost of managing asthma for an average sized primary
care organisation has been estimated at £4 million.

Every 16 minutes a child is admitted to hospital in England, Scotland or
Wales because of their asthma.

Nearly a third of all long-term childhood illnesses are due to doctor-
diagnosed asthma.

Latest research studies show that:

Children under spinal health care (as provided at the Ideal Spine Centre) acheived the same decrease of asthma attacks as those undergoing
medical care, and without the side effect of drugs;

Children under spinal care reduced the amount of medication they required by 47%;

Frequency of asthma attacks attacks decreased by 45% for those children undergoing spinal care;
