My G.P. said it was due to "bad circulation and arthritis."

 

It seems as if I have always had back problems, even when I was younger with a family to look after. But over the years I learned to accept it and lived with it. I never let it stop me from doing what I had to do. When Frank and I retired we took up dancing and bowling. We also like to walk each day, if possible, which I have always found helpful. But in these last five years it seems we have never been out of the doctor's waiting room.

Frank was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and went for the operation, rather than chemotherapy. This, of course, is followed by the usual rounds of blood tests etc, followed by daily pills. Thankfully he is now in remission. He also has a hiatus hernia, which means more daily pills.

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and then was told that I had an under active thyroid gland - more pills. Worst of all, I started to get dizzy spells, breathing problems and very bad pins and needles in my legs and arms at night. My G.P. said it was due to "bad circulation and arthritis".

You could say neither Frank nor I had been feeling very well for the last three to four years.until the beginning of this year. In January a leaflet was put in our letter box, offering a free spine and health check up. I have to be honest, I threw it in our recycling basket, but Frank retrieved it and persuaded me to have a spinal check. I took lots of persuading. Dr Farthing said I had 7 subluxations and areas of significant degeneration and decay, which I had never heard of before. Frank also had a check up and, to his amazement, was told he had 6 subluxations. When shown the x-rays and posture photos it was easy to see but we had never been assessed this thoroughly and told about this before. The answer we had always been given was 'more pills'. When the word 'Subluxation' was explained to us we decided to have the adjustments, but I still needed convincing.

We have been attending the Ideal Spine Centre and having adjustments since January. Gradually my dizzy spells have all but gone. Also the pins and needles are no longer a problem. My whole system has improved greatly, although I still get back pains, but these are gradually improving. Frank's hiatus hernia has greatly improved and he feels much better in himself. Best of all, apart from a 6 monthly check for blood pressure, neither of us has had to see our G.P. this year.

The staff at the Ideal Spine Centre are always very kind and helpful. The workshops are very interesting and informative.
