18 months ago I was getting really depressed about the prospect of reduced mobility and the need to take large quantities of painkillers just to get through the day.

All the things I had previously enjoyed were now becoming almost impossible. I had been through the NHS system of Rheumatologists, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, etc and the net result was not encouraging.

I had read about Dr Farthing in the local newspaper and then saw an ad in the Focus magazine for the Ideal Spine Centre, so clutching at straws I booked in for an assessment.

I was not surprised at my x-rays as I knew I had degenerative changes in my lower back but I was shocked at the subluxations and demonstrated in other areas of my spine and at my poor posture.

We agreed upon the year's adjustment programme and I embarked upon a new journey.

As a retired nurse, many of Dr Farthing's teachings were well known to me but his holistic approach is quite unique.

I am now able to continue horse riding and the dressage training that I thought I would never resume. I can also do the gardening, which I really missed. The pain killer drugs have been reduced to only occasional use.

Halfway through my year's programme, things were going so well I encouraged my son to go for an assessment. It was difficult for him as he was studying in London to become an Occupational Therapist. He signed up and has also had some really good results.

I have just had my reassessment and am encouraged by the results and so I am now in my second year and looking forward to being active and continuing to do the things I enjoy doing.
