With the regular lower back pain as part of my normal daily life, I really didn't think there was anything anyone could do for me. Last year I also noticed my posture was deteriorating and becoming more distorted. I was starting to stoop and that's when I was referred by my housemate to see Dr. Christian Farthing at the Ideal Spine Centre for a spine and health check-up.

Prior to then, I sincerely thought there was nothing anyone could do for me, that back pain was something that I would have to suffer in silence with for the rest of my life. I, along with many other people in the developed world, had accepted that there was nothing anyone could do and in the current health care system we have that's perfectly true. I just accepted that around midday, my pain would be so intense, that I thought it would be part of my life to have to get up from what I was doing and wander around, or simply lie on the floor until the pain subsided.

But things have changed, and if I was to say what it was, I would say it was a list of firsts! For instance, at my initial consultation, Dr Farthing asked me about my birth , which no one had ever asked about previously. To be honest, I had never bothered to ask my parents about it. It's hardly the thing you would ask over the phone - "Hi Mum, how was my birth?" When I did, I was stunned! Yes, there had been complications - I almost did not survive. From his experience and training, Dr. Christian Farthing knew instantaneously from one glance of my neck and my spine, that there was a deep seated problem there.

Another first was when I was given a thorough questioning of my medical history, every bump and accident, when and where. Slowly the picture of the problems with my spine finally made sense. Normally, in our current health care system, there is nothing that anyone can do for us except for provide some kind of 'patch up' or pain relief. But at the Ideal Spine Centre they said that they would be able to help me (another 1 st !). They could not only relieve my pain, but more importantly, correct my problem and prevent any spinal decay or damage from continuing any further. For the first time some one had a plan of action for me.

True to their word, my pain is now 99% less than how it was. I've also had other improvements, thanks to the weekly health seminars, led by Dr Christian Farthing. I've lost 1½ stone in weight, which started with the 'Rocket Fuel Nutrition' Health Workshop and other 'wellness' habits I have been motivated to do (e.g. exercising four times a week).

Another first was when I first had my spinal adjustments as I noticed how much better my concentration at University was afterwards. I had been diagnosed with ADHD ('Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder') a few years ago due to my problems with concentration. Since starting spinal care at the Ideal Spine Centre, I am able to concentrate and focus much better and for longer.

My concentration is better for my studies and everyone around me has noticed a significant improvement in my grades and performance at University.

Every day I see an improvement in my health, my performance and in my spine, and every day I am enormously thankful to my housemate for recommending the Ideal Spine Centre to me. With the adjustments, along with the spinal exercises and greater insight into understanding wellness and what true health means, my quality of life has improved significantly.

With the improvements in my concentration, perhaps I can get a first at University too!
