The saddest thing happened in my practice recently. A middle aged woman, who had been putting off getting her spine checked came to see me for a consultation.

Unfortunately, she had left it too late, there was nothing we could do. So this message is for you, if you have never had your spine checked or you have been putting it off.

Doctor's Message

What would you think if you went to the dentist because you were suffering with decay and a toothache, and all they did was send you home with a drug or painkiller?

That would be crazy wouldn't it because the problem had not been corrected.

Disappointingly, the same problem now exists in our current health care system, because when you see your doctor, in most cases, the answer is going to be in a drug or painkiller and to send you home.

The problem is not being corrected. Then if that tablet doesn't work, you are given stronger pills, steroid injections, epidurals and if all else fails, yes you got it, surgery!

The sad reality is - whatever pain, symptom or sickness you are suffering from, the answer is too often in the form of a pill, potion or injection.

Yes, this is crazy isn't it because the problem is not being corrected.

During my training at university, I was taught by some of the best there are. My senior tutors and lecturers were wonderful people who showed me how to do one thing extremely well, and that was how to help people and correct the problem.

If you have not had your spine checked or you have been putting it off, today may be the best time to make that step. Making an appointment for a spine and nervous system check-up may be the best thing you could ever do for you and your family's future health and well-being.
